I'm not 18 yet, will you tattoo me?
You must be 18+ to book at Goody Scumdrops Tattoo, even with parental permission. ID is legally required and will be checked. Tattoos are permanent, and tattoo regret is real. Adolescents undergo so many developmental changes, both physically and mentally, we believe it is best to wait until adulthood to get inked.
Do tattoos hurt?
To be blunt, yes. At least a bit...but the majority of people find it a very tolerable discomfort. It all depends on your individual pain tolerance, where on your body you are getting tattooed, and what. It is not the same sensation as getting an injection, as tattoo needles only penetrate 1.5-2mm below the skin surface.
If you're genuinely concerned about how you will sit, we recommend booking a small piece on an arm or leg as a first tattoo. This way you will get to know the studio space, your artist and the process involved. You can see what it feels like to be tattooed and be done quite quickly.
You'll be planning the next one before you're even out the door!
Do you take walk-ins?
No, Goody Scumdrops Tattoo is a Private Studio that runs strictly by appointment only. This means no customers interrupting your tattoo time!
I'm nervous. Can I bring my friend/partner for support?
Yes, you can bring a support person if you need to. But please advise us ahead of time to ensure that there is space for them. Seating is limited.
Can I bring my children?
Goody Scumdrops Tattoo is for 18+ only, children are not permitted to be in the studio.
Will you draw me something? If I like it, I'll book it.
That's not how things work. Drawing up custom designs take hours - sometimes days. It cannot be done for nothing.
Designs are not drawn up without a paid deposit and secured appointment. Designs are shown on the day of your appointment, and not before. Small tweaks can be made on the day if required. This is now industry standard.
Can I use numbing cream?
We do not recommend numbing cream. Tattoo numbing creams are topical anesthetics applied to the skin before a tattoo. They often contain ingredients like lidocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine, or epinephrine. These ingredients dull the sensation of pain, but come with other complications...
Allergic reactions are possible, in which case we would need to cancel your appointment.
It changes the skin texture, actually making it harder to get the ink in.
It can wear off very suddenly, leaving you to feel the pain all at once.
It can result in a bad heal, with patchy colour and possible scarring.
How much is a tattoo?
Goody Scumdrops Tattoo has a $150 minimum. Even a small/basic tattoo requires drawing/designing, cleaning, setting up, disposables and fees. For the same reasons, I do not offer free touch up appointments. All tattoos are custom quoted based on the information you provide in the Booking Request Form.
Gumball "Get-What-You-Get" tattoos will have set prices and maxium size restrictions.
How do I book a tattoo?
Please fill out our Booking Request Form with as much detail as you can and we will custom quote your tattoo. If we feel the project's not a good match, we will refer you to another more suitable artist whenever possible.
A $100 booking deposit will be required to secure your appointment (this will come off your total on the day). Some projects will also require an additional drawing fee (this will be advised in your quote).
